my works
My new works are quiet and the forms emulate suspension - they feel as if they are floating in air. As the series progresses, the forms become more deflated and seem to be falling gently to the ground. The final work of the series seems to be floating slowly away into the stratosphere. I have named each piece with the Latin words for specific cloud formations, which are descriptive of both the cloud type and the shape of the sculpture. Fibratus is the name of a cloud with a "mare's tail" castellanus means "tower with smaller base" pileus means "cap - like top" , radiatus means " parallel waves" . I like that the word stratus refers to both clouds of the highest elevation and also to layers - stratification - which describes the process of my work.
